Important Things to Note When Scheduling Your Child’s Appointment

Appointments

Patients are seen by appointment and every attempt is made to schedule your appointment with your preferred provider. We are committed to maintaining a schedule. However, emergencies may delay your appointment. If your provider is extremely behind schedule, our staff will inform you so that you may have another provider see your child or reschedule your appointment.

  • Call early in the day if your child is sick and needs to be seen the same day.

  • Inform the person making your appointment about the nature of the visit. This allows us to set aside the proper amount of time for your appointment.

  • Check in 10-15 minutes early for your appointment.

  • Call well in advance for kindergarten, sports, pre op and routine physicals.

  • Appointments may be made up to nine months in advance.

  • Always bring your insurance card and notify us if there has been  a change in your insurance carrier.

  • Notify the office at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment.

A 24-hour cancellation notice is customary. “NO SHOW” fees are applicable.

Telephone Calls

Our medical staff are trained to answer most commonly asked questions. However, when you are requesting to speak to a provider, there are times when they can return phone calls only after completing their morning and afternoon appointments.

When calling, give your child’s name, age, and as much information about the problem as possible. Let us know if it is an emergency or a very urgent situation and we will notify the provider at once.

After Hours

An “ON CALL” provider is always available on weekends, holidays, and after hours for telephone consultation regarding urgent health conditions. Call (904)491-0177 and leave a message with our answering service. Have important information ready for the “On Call” provider such as your child’s temperature, and medications, allergies, and any chronic medical conditions which may affect the child’s care. Most situations can be handled over the phone until the morning.
